bio of nyc-mac founder Ken Court

Ken Court is a native Oregonian who started his I.T. career by cleaning a computer mouse for a college bookstore president. After being hired as a computer technician at Portland State University he quickly rose through the ranks and was soon responsible for over 1000 seats on the extended campus including Macintosh, Windows NT and SGI machines. After leaving PSU Ken joined Mac Shop Northwest of Lake Oswego, Oregon to help them become one of the most active Apple Authorized Service Centers on the entire West Coast and also consulted for CompUSA's co-marketing with Apple in their "Store Within a Store" campaign. Moving to New York City in 2001, Ken was a founding member of Apple's NYC flagship SoHo Retail store where he served as Apple's first Technical Administrator and helped design and implement the highest volume Apple computer service department on planet earth. In 2004 he then migrated from AppleCare to Apple SoHo's Business Unit and created Apple's first Business Technical Coordinator position where he became the first Apple Retail employee to close single transactions well in excess of $150,000 each - including Servers, Storage and Support. He now heads nyc-mac, a Brooklyn, NY based consortium of technicians with contacts in the US, EU, Latin America, India, Caribbean, Japan, China and Hong Kong. When not planning his next connection he enjoys time with his girlfriend, time with his cat, practicing Aikido, Samadhi Float Tanks, running, and evaluating SGI visualization.
